Let's talk about sex

Morrissey's awkward prose in List of The Lost

Has anyone read List of The Lost yet? I've read a fair few reviews and although they've been less than favourable, it's done nothing to assuage my curiosity.

It's difficult to believe the man that gave us beautiful lyrics like 'I'm the son and the heir of nothing in particular' gave us such a disappointing novel.

One of the best reviews was from The Quietus, who basically described it as lexicological masturbation - ironic considering his dire descriptions of sex allude to a man who hates any act that may involve a bulbous salutation.

As a writer, I find reviews really interesting to read. It gives you customer insight to learn from.

Naturally, don't take reviews of your own work to heart, but it's all feedback and a development tool.

Anyway, enough of the corporate soundbites. I'm off to think of other ways to describe an erection.
